Celebrate the trees of North America with this sculpture honoring the tallest tree of the temperate deciduous forest! Tulip Poplars (Liriodendron tulipifera) are known for being fast growers, and are one of the most common types of hardwood you'll find in painted furniture.
Despite its common name, Tulip Poplars are not true poplar trees, but are the source for almost all poplar lumber in the US.
They are the state trees of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana.
Design
These decorative leaves are made from solid tulip poplar with a walnut stem. The wood's natural and unique beauty of the wood is allowed to shine with a clear finish.
The backs have the name of the tree engraved.
Note: as these are handmade items made from natural wood, there is a wide array of appearance in the leaves. The curves are different on each leaf and the grain itself varies in color and detail.
