Celebrate the trees of North America with this sculpture honoring everyone's favorite source of breakfast sweetener. The Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum) is the primary source for maple syrup, as well has having beautiful, bright fall foliage.
Besides this, it also has an extremely durable, multi-use wood, commonly known as hard maple. You'll find it in cabinets, furniture, and many other roles. In it's most figured form, it can contain birds-eyes or have fantastic chatoyancy with curl and quilting.
They are the state trees of New York, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, as well as being featured on the flag of Canada.
Design
These decorative leaves are made from solid hard maple with a walnut stem. The wood's natural and unique beauty of the wood is allowed to shine with a clear finish.
The backs have the name of the tree engraved.
Note: as these are handmade items made from natural wood, there is a wide array of appearance in the leaves. The curves are different on each leaf and the grain itself varies in color and detail.
