Celebrate the trees of North America with this magnet honoring a tree that has three leave shapes! Sassafras (Sassafras albidum) are found throughout eastern US and is commonly used to make root beer.
This magnet showcases the 3-lobed leaf, but the tree will also contain 2-lobed and unlobed leaves, often on the same branch. Sassafras are able to spread through their roots, and given space can form a clonal colony.
In the fall, the leaves can change a variety of colors. Most often they'll be a deep burgandy, but mid-transition you can find the leaves showing oranges, peach, and more.
Design
These magnets are made from solid hard maple. The natural finished are simply coated in lacquer, while the dyed ones are hand-colored before being finished. The backs always have the name of the tree engraved, while the fronts can come in a variety of styles. Find the one that matches your personality!
Note: as these are handmade items made from natural wood, there is a wide array of appearance in the magnets. Some are flat, some are curved, and the grain itself varies in color and detail. For the dyed ones, a random one will be selected. If you have a particular style you'd like, please add it as a note with your order and I'll do my best to accommodate you!
